A. Package
----------
   PowerTABLE 1.1 is written by D.Hilger, for bytes & letters.
   Copyright (C) 1994 by bytes & letters. All rights reserved.
   
   The shareware-version of PowerTable can be copied freely, if the
   package is complete.

   The PTBL10.ZIP-file is the whole sharware-package and contains
   only the following files:
   
   DATAMGR.EXE	 - PowerTABLE Data Manager
   FEATURES.TXT  - Feature overview
   README.TXT    - This file
   ROUTINES.TXT  - Sourcecode description
   AUTOINI.BAS	 - Routines for automatic INI-Management
   COMPACT.BAS	 - Routines for compacting xBase-Tables
   TRUEGRID.VBX  - APEX-Datagrid
   THREED.VBX    - Sheridan 3D Widgets


   Other files will be created during the first run of PowerTABLE.
   These files are:

   ..\WINDOWS\PWRTABLE.INI	
   SQL.DBF		
   SQL.DBT		

   ==> Do not distribute/copy these files with the shareware-version!!!

   Microsoft Windows 3.1
    

1. Installation
----------------

   Extract the PWRTBL.ZIP file to a separate directory.

   The extracted files TRUEGRID.VBX and THREED.VBX must be copied into your 
   \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

   If you want to replace your VB-Data-Manager, you just have to copy the
   extracted file DATAMGR.EXE into your VB-home-directory.

   Note that PowerTABLE does not support FoxPro 2.0- and dBase III-tables. 
   All other formats are supported: Access, dBase IV, FoxPro 2.5, 
   Paradox 3.x and Btrieve.



        
2. Getting Started
------------------
   If you have replaced the VB-Data-Manager, you just have to choose
   Window->Data Manager from the VB-Menu. Otherwise run your file-manager
   an start DATAMGR.EXE.


3. PowerTABLE is fresh and quick
--------------------------------
   Before you are going to modify important data-tables with PowerTABLE,
   you should make a backup of these files; better: you should learn itīs 
   usage with a some test-files.
   
   No warranty for your databases, tables, existing data or anything else!
   
   If you find a bug (nothing is perfect), something bad, or if you miss
   a feature, please let us know about it.

5. Registration, Copyright
--------------------------

   If you donīt want to see the "Register Me!"-windows anymore, or if
   you want to continue working with PowerTABLE in the future, you should
   register PowerTABLE.

   This can be done by simply sending a short order to us, a few dollars 
   or deutschmarks and - of course - your home adress and if possible,
   your CompuServe ID.

   A few days later, we will send you a registration-number, either by 
   'normal'-mail or e-mail - however you want to get it.
   This number is good for one user or one workstation. If you need a 
   multi-user version, you must not pay the whole fee for each user, just
   tell us how many users will work with PowerTable, and we will make
   you a special price. 

   If you save time, money and nerves with this product, so please do not 
   forget that we made this work. Shareware can be a great thing for 
   everyone, for you and for us. Itīs just a kind of fairness.
